We’ll discuss this as a team to find the best solution for your family. It may be a combination of all these options or we may choose to work exclusively in person. We will find the locations that empower you and your child to feel comfortable – if they love art class, our first session will likely be at the art studio!
Of course. I don’t believe that silo treatment benefits anyone so, while we may spend more time with the presenting child, we can absolutely include the other children. We can discuss this more when we do our discovery call.
Ideally we want the whole family involved and committed to the process. We will work as well as we can with the family members who are available and open to therapy.
Therapy is not going to be an immediate result. It will take time to work on communication, discover solutions, and work on family dynamics to support each other. We will, however, work on strategies and communication techniques early on in the process to make sure you have resources available to begin making changes.
Typically, it will be more sessions and time at the onset. This allows us to gather info and get into your goals and create steps for a successful plan. That plan will continue to evolve and mature and will likely require re-evaluation over years to come. You can expect to spend 3-9 months for the initial stages depending on the age and grade of your child and how far into the school year they are. Then sessions will decrease in frequency.
